Poverty, unemployment and
increasingly high rates of
homelessness weigh heavily upon some
of the most vulnerable members of
society. In order to overcome these
obstacles and to ensure that our
homeless families permanently escape
their poverty, Casa Nueva
Vida, Inc. has developed the
following programs: |

The goal of this
program is to provide
homeless mothers with
basic/advance computer
skills in order to
obtain employment in a
related area and become
independent of public
assistance.
|

|
The English
as a Second Language
Program is offered to
all residents that have
the need to improve
their reading, written
and speaking skills.
|
|
|
The program provides an
opportunity for women to
discuss and better cope
with the problems of
domestic violence and
low self-esteem, while
offering practical
knowledge about health,
nutrition and parenting
that can be of great
benefit to homeless and
non-homeless mothers
alike.

The
Children’s Education
Program is of great
value in helping our
residents and their
children to overcome
obstacles to learning,
to reach a high standard
of educational success,
and to continue that
success upon leaving the
shelter.
